Max execution time/out of memory errors for event registrations
September 07, 2011, 12:34:57 pm
For some reason CiviCRM has started throwing out of memory errors and max execution exceded errors when people sign up for our walk events.  We bumped up the memory limit in PHP and that fixed the memory errors, but it's taking over a minute to process these registrations and then it times out.

The strange thing is that it's actually processing the event registration, processing the registration fees with PayPal website payments pro, and it's even logging the profile information and registration to our contacts.  But it just never pulls up the thank you page because it times out.

Here's one of our registration pages - https://predisan.org/okcwalk

Can anyone offer any insight into what might cause this?  Is there any more information that might help determine that?

Please help.

couple of things:

1. can you check your mail server and ensure that things work fine there. Sending a test email should help determine thi

2. try disabling the attach PDF copy to receipts. check the configuration here:

I tried to stop the pdf function.

I followed this:

http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,18012.0.html

"You can take out this line in CRM/Event/BAO/Event.php

'PDFFilename' => 'civicrm.pdf',"

– But I had no luck. Removing the line did nothing.

I still se the URL: index.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/contribute/transact&&Itemid=478 and a white page (No errors)

1. u need to login to the demo site (demo / demo) to see that page

2. that setting allows you to suppress the PDF generation via the UI, so no need to hack core :)

– But I am running CiviCRM 4.0.2.

And there is no "Attach PDF copy to receipts" possibility???

Thanks, Lobo.  The mail server issue was what caused it on my end.

Are there also a solution for CiviCRM 4?

Best regards
