No admin menu, logo ... in fact it looks nothing like demo..!
December 01, 2011, 08:17:59 am
Hi there,
first time using CiviCRM but am a hardened Joomla user. I've demoed CiviCRM for a local charity and thought it looks great, but when I've loaded it up to my site for further testing I get a very basic screen with no Admin menu. Only the option to add new fields. Take a look at the attached screen shot. I'm running Joomla 1.7, CiviCRM 4.0.7. Also the configure your dashboard link doesn't work.

I am running this as a sub folder of my domain, with a shortcut. IE http:// test . mydomain . com/ but the files are http:// www . my domain . com/test/

cheers
James

Can you check this in Firebug for Firefox for any JS errors? Also check the Net tab for any not found files.

I think you're onto something. It doesn't link to any of the files, it is searching for them here

http:// test . mydomain . co.uk/packages/jquery/plugins/jquery.chainedSelects.js

when I guess this file should be:

http:// test . mydomain . co.uk/administrator/componenets/com_civicrm/packages/jquery/plugins/jquery.chainedSelects.js

I have tried changing the joomla config/civicrm admin config/civicrm config to direct to the true site http:// www . mydomain .co.uk/ test/ but this did not resolve the issue and all the links just changed to:

http:// www. mydomain .co.uk/test/packages/jquery/plugins/jquery.chainedSelects.js

which obviously does not exist.

any ideas?

Correct path is

/administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/packages/jquery/plugins/jquery.chainedSelects.js

yes.

What does it say on  civicrm/admin/setting/updateConfigBackend?reset=1 ?

Is that a druple link?

I've just done this one:

/administrator/index2.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/admin/setting/updateConfigBackend&reset=1

and it gave me a 404 error

It has now added 'administrator' into the link to the files, it's still short the components/com_civicrm/civicrm/

I did find out how to resolve this issue by going to:

?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/admin/setting/url&reset=1

and putting the full url in the Resource field:

test.mydomain.co.uk/administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/

Can you look at the Net tab of Firebug for Firefox and see if any files are not loading?
