Platform: Joomla 2.5*, CiviCRM 4.1.beta3.

I have a problem concerning creation of a Joomla user account from a profile.

The profile I have used is derived from the "New Individual" profile and thus includes an "primary e-mail" field. I have selected "account creation required" in the Advanced Settings of the Profile Setting. I have finally double-checked the "Joomla Users Table Name" setting and it is correct.

The profile should be created from the Joomla front end, so there is a menu item for "profile create form".

When I enter a user name and check it for availability, it says that the username is currently available.

When I click "Save", however, Joomla loads an empty form and outputs

Your profile is not saved and Account is not created

However, the profile does get saved in CiviCRM, but no Joomla user account is created.

I've also tried using the "Create User Record" facility under "Actions" when viewing the contact. CiviCRM then reports, "User has been added" but there is no trace of it in the Joomla User Manager.

Any clues, someone?

Ok! I did not actually use reCAPTCHA, but, as you indicated, that may still be the case.

Even if this is not a real problem for this release, since it's not supposed to work with Joomla 2.5, this will of course be a problem for future releases I guess. Would it be possible to fix this in this release already (a question directed to just anyone actually)? I agree with this post: http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,22788.msg95627.html#msg95627 - 2.5 is after all already the latest official Joomla version, so it would be good to be able to use it.
