Can you confirm if this patch is for 4.1 only and is it Drupal and/or Joomla?

Thanks much - I pulled down mailing.php from my Joomla 1.7 / Civi 4.0.8 install and can't match lines to the patch.

this patch is for 4.1 only when we migrated to using api v3. I dont know if it will work in 4.0

Tony,

did you try the patch that was published on Mar 7, an update to mailing.php
https://fisheye2.atlassian.com/changelog/CiviCRM?cs=38999

I'm assuming the util.php patch remained the same.

Issue is marked as Fixed/Completed in Issue Tracker. Just looking for a confirmation from one of the affected folks that it worked for them.

We have successfully applied the patch and bounced messages AND unsubs are being processed as they should.

Thank you all very much. As soon as budget allows, we will be a participant in the Make It Happen campaign.

Hi.  I am having the identical problem and have applied the patch above, but the test contact is still not being marked as Opt Out.

All the above symptoms are the same.  The email bounces to my googlemail account, when the cron runs the bounced email disappears from googlemail, but the contact is not opted out.

What information can I provide to you that will help debug this?

I think I am having this same or similar problem

Bounces are being processed into the ignored or processed folder but no updates to the contact records or mailing reports.  Also this table - civicrm_mailing_event_bounce - does not have any entries.

did this patch resolve the problem?  any way to determine if I have the same problem?

thanks

I too am having the same problem.  Everything seems to work expect the bounces are not processed.  I get the emails in the bounce inbox and they get moved to the civicrm/processed box but the contact in Civi is not put on hold.  Also there are no rows added to the civicrm_mailing_event_bounce table, should they be added here?

I am running 4.2.8 so I dont think I need to apply the patch.  Anyone have any suggestions on what to try?

My fetch bounces reports
Details:
Parameters parsed (and passed to API method):
a:1:{s:7:"version";i:3;}

Full message:
Finished execution of Fetch Bounces with result: Success (a:0:{})

But no contacts are ever marked.  The emails go out and everything else works as expected.  Just not the bounce processing.

can you add debugging code here:

CRM/Utils/Mail/EmailProcessor.php

and see if u can figure whats happening and why. You'll need php skills to do so

Re: Not processing bounces

Got it straightened out. The problem was a forwarding rule on the catch all email address and it was messing up the VERP address.  The emailProcessor was key to determining the problem.  I just used some simple echo statements to figure out what was going wrong. It was processing the request but they were not matching up perfectly so it was not tracking them back to the intended contact and that is why they were not getting put on hold or marked as bad addresses.

Thanks for the pointers on which file to look in. That made all the difference.
