Hosting Providers that do Joomla and CiviCRM updates?
August 25, 2012, 04:58:00 pm
Hi,  my org is looking to implement Joomla 2.5 and CiviCRM 4.2.  We're looking for a host that can do the install and periodic upgrades.

Thanks,
CiviRocks!

Thanks Planetwebb,

Have you had any experience with CiviHosting and Joomla/CiviCRM upgrades?

I have used Civihosting for about a year with a Drupal instal and am very happy with their services and response to queries. I've experienced no problems. Hershel is very active on the CiviCRM forums and very helpful.

Thank you for your response davyivins and Hershel (also for the email),

I know CiviHosting has an excellent reputation and if I were working in Drupal, CiviHosting is where I'd go.  I am looking to see if there is a hosting service that specializes in upgrading Joomla/CiviCRM.  Drupal is quite heavily supported in the CiviCRM world.....but Joomla....not so much.

Any Joomla/CiviCRM hosting specialists out there that can do periodic CMS/CRM upgrades? I've check the Professional Services listings and most businesses specialize in Drupal, not Joomla.

Yes, most do and this is unfortunate. I just posted about this today http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,25692.msg109001.html#msg109001 in fact.

True! I know CiviCRM works best with Drupal. If I had the time, I'd become a specialist myself. ;)

Hi Everyone,

I FINALLY found a place that will install Joomla, CiviCRM (and much more) as well as host it on well built and maintained servers.  They can even design custom Joomla extensions and integrations (they did a fabulous integration of JomSocial and CiviCRM to create a volunteer system for www.activategood.org). They are Polished Geek (http://www.polishedgeek.com)

They just finished doing a base installation and configuration of Joomla 2.5/CiviCRM 4.2 for my org.  They worked efficiently and answered all of my questions.  We didn't need data migration, but they'll do that too.

I highly recommend them if you're working in Joomla.
