Permissions problem - Google displaying links to individuals information

I have permissions set so that the public aren't allowed to view individuals profiles (see attached screenshot), however this does not seem to be working as Google has picked up in it's search results the individuals record and you are able to click through and view address details on the website.  HELP!!!  Major privacy issue.Using Joomla 1.7 and Civicrm 4.0.8

Perhaps deny profile listings and forms also?

I've just tried this and it throws the whole site up as an error.  Basically what we use civicrm for is to have a directory of organisations which is publicly visible.  In addition to this we then allow individual registrations and memberships, but these details should not be viewable by the general public.  Any more ideas?

not sure you should be allowing 'access civicrm' should you

I have now revoked permission for 'access civicrm' however, I am still able to view individual profiles when not logged in.  any ideas?

Hard to help you with the little information you give, but likely one of your profile is set as a profile (name has changed recently, something about directory?) and shouldn't and/or the fields are public visible and shouldn't.

Okay - so now i have ensured that the individual registration profile is not set to profile (see attachment) and are also limited to a group (admins) but still can view address details when following link from google!!  Help!!!

Also, to add, removing the 'profile' checkbox meant that my registration page broke, so now had to turn back on.

have you confirmed the fields used in the profile are set in the profile to be used for 'user and admin only' or whatever it is called, rather than 'public' or 'public listing' or whatever the phrase is

probably worth checking ALL profiles eg the Name and Address profile that shipped with civi used to dispaly First, Last, State, Country as public listings

and of course remember that google will be caching stuff, so just cos it shows still in google doesn't mean it isn't necessarily a door that you have now closed

All fields are set to admin and user only.  surely, even if google has cached the results, when following the link it should bring up a permissions error rather than showing the persons information?

I can view the pages when not logged in - i.e. as an anonymous user.

Sounds like you may need to hire someone to examine your site. Or perhaps if you can, step through the code and try to find where it's not blocking anonymous users....

I don't think hiring someone is the answer - surely there is somebody that can give me the ideal joomla access permissions for allowing the view of organisations and not individuals records?
