We are using CiviCRM for Contact/Relationship management, a press release center and other functionality, but we would like to use Civi for donators/membership as well.

However, the crucial limitation of this moment is support for the Dutch 'incasso' system. This is similair to the UK direct debit system.

I have done some research and have found out that multiple companies have started initiative's to create functionality like this.

However, the Dutch situation may be unique in some respects and I would like to coördinate the efforts for the Dutch market. An worthy endgoal may be integration in the core.

Some aspects we already have developed in a previous PHP based sytem is:

-advanced matching of payment to a donator by ZIP/housenumer and/or banknumber and import
-creation of donators on new data in bankexport

This should off course also be integrated in CiviCRM, then Civi would have an advantage over the markleaders in Dutch donation management systems, which currently do not offer these features.

Are people interested to work on me on this one? We already started seeking PHP programmers to start development.
I am also looking for parties who have already started Direct debit/SEPA integration.

note that civi v4.3 will have support for UK direct debit (and direct debit in general). We've made it easier to extend / modify payment processors and hence write pluggable direct debit processors.

I have been working on full SEPA Direct Debit for over two years -- mandate registration, generating the individual recurring transactions, formatting the XML ... I am also somewhat familiar with incasso. In Belgium, there's no such payment instrument on the market -- SDD comes close, and is starting to get traction amongst nonprofits.

I would love to chip in and see how we can marry the DD payment processor model with the 'background' generation of files to export to the bank.

Code was relatively plain PHP, independent of anything .. I am however looking to integrate that into Civi, so sure, would love to check out how DD is structured and see if that would fit in there / be a variation of that.

How best to proceed ? Where is the DD processor at in terms of timing, release ?

Yep, as Michael has highlighted we'll be showing the work done to date and laying out the plans for future phases.

Would be good to document the differences between the UK Direct Debit Processes and SEPA. In simple terms I think for SEPA the payment is assumed to be successfully collect unless notified otherwise.

Any others?

Once we've got the differences nailed we can build into the plans for the next phases.
