I just upgraded to 4.2.2 and it did fix the bug that prevented users from using the pay with PayPal button instead of entering credit card info (my payment processor is Paypal Website payments pro). (See this topic: http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,26094.0.html)

Wonderful, it did fix it, users can now properly use the pay with PayPal button. but....the paypal screen doesn't have any price and/or description. Instead the description is blank, the current purchase is empty. It does say "You'll be able to see your order details before you pay".  (You are eventually returned to civi with a price point and a continue button to pay, but it is not ideal to have no price in the PayPal section.)

I've done some reading about this PayPal message and various posts have said things like "This is by design, as shipping costs and taxes depend on the billing and delivery addresses, which are not available until the user has returned from PayPal." or "When you only supply an amount to PayPal it only displays "Current purchase" and "You'll be able to see your order details before you pay." in the order summary box. This, unfortunately, is what PayPal does!"


Does anyone know a work around to get the amount to populate in the PayPal screen? Or a push in the right direction to figure it out?

Not yet, I haven't played with it in a while but if I find anything out I'll post!!
