Manage Groups not working

Hi Team!

I am having trouble with the Contacts -> Manage Groups function. The search button does not work at all, so I can not list any of my groups to edit. It seems to be only on this page.

I have tried various different themes. Can anyone tell me the URL to edit group numbers, as I can see them in other areas of CiviCRM? Also, adding a new group is no problem.

Here is the JS consol message:
Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token ILLEGAL jquery.dataTables.min.js:1
Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method 'dataTable' group:692

Is this fresh install? Can you also try clearing templates_c folder.

Thanks so much for your assistance.

Yes it was a fresh install of version 4.2.1 and I have just upgraded it to 4.2.6 and still have the same issue - even after clearing the templates_c folder.

what browser are u using? can u try using a different browser and see if it works there

I'm using Chrome 23 but have also tried Internet Explorer 9, both with the same result.

IMO some other drupal module you are using is creating conflict for jquery.

this means you want to add/remove members from group,  than below is the url
FYI  :   /civicrm/group/search?reset=1&force=1&context=smog&gid=5  ( where gid is the group id )

I suspect you are right. Thanks Sushant. I can add contacts to groups no issue, would you have the url to edit and delete groups?

On manage group page , in more options you have Delete and Disable link  for each group.

Hi Sushant,

That is the problem outlined in this topic. Civi does not display my current groups, as the search function does not work at all, and there is no alphabetical list. I know I have 10 groups from the tables, but I am cautious to modify the tables directly. That is why I am after the direct URL for both editing a group and deleting a group.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated!

Hey Allan,

Below are the url for delete and edit group:
For Delete:
/civicrm/group?reset=1&action=delete&id=5

For Edit:
civicrm/group?reset=1&action=update&id=5

Where id is the group id.

Hi Kennedy,

Thanks, the demo site works fine, so I am assuming it might be some extensions in Drupal that could cause this issue with the jQuery?

Do you have any odd characters in your group name that could be tripping it up?

Not sure if I have seen this but if I had the fix would be in 4.2.10
