Finding duplicates
March 17, 2008, 05:13:31 pm
I am not sure if this is a bug or not but I am wondering if there is away around this problem.

I want to run a find duplicates wizard to see if I missed any in my upload process but when I go to run it I get a 500 Internal Server Error using CiviCRM 2.0.1 and Drupal with very minimal modules. I tried upping the the PHP.ini all the way 512M and it is still failing.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

Its a dedupe bug (IMO) which we need to fix in a 2.x release. for the short term solution check this thread:

The link in that thread produces an "access denied" error.  Is the work around documented somewhere else?  Thanks for your help.

That's weird... I assume you're logged in to the forum (altho I don't think that matters). I just clicked that link and it came up fine ???

However, quoting a summary of the workaround below:

Also, when you go to the ‘Use Rule’ URL (say, http://civicrm-18/civicrm/admin/dedupefind?reset=1&action=update&rgid=1), you can limit the scope of the search to a given group by adding &gid=7 to the end of the URL; try whether that makes CiviCRM use less memory on searches.
