Email Address field conflict - appearing under price set instead of in profile

CiviCRM 4.2.0 | Joomla  2.5.9

Hello,

I am CiviCRM newbie and am trying to set up a contribution page for a membership type.

Everything seems fine but I am having a different email address field appear underneath my price sets instead of with the other profile information. My profile fields include one for "Email" but that is not appearing despite it being enabled.

I assume there is some sort of conflict with a standard email address field and the one in my profile set but I don't know where to start in terms of troubleshooting so any guidance would be greatly appreciated. :-)

Can you reproduce this on our joomla demo server? Will give us an idea of what you are configuring and how

Paul - Prior to version 4.2 the email address field was hard-coded in event registration forms (and if included in a profile as well - it was suppressed). In 4.2 this was changed so that a new default profile was available for the email address (Your Registration Info) - but admins are able to use that or not (and put email address in other profiles instead).

Based on your screenshot, not sure if you're using 4.2 or perhaps prior release ???

Hi Dave, yes I am using 4.2.0 so I assume I will have to try Donald's suggestion.

Hi Donald,

The demo server doesn't seem to be correctly configured. I logged in and can't access the CiviCRM admin area to set up the price sets. Can you please take a look.

Hi Donald,

The demo server looks ok now but it's all in Turkish! When does it get reset?

I've attached another screenshot to show my page using the default "Summary Overlay"  reserved profile set. This too experiences the problem I first reported. The email field in this profile does not display and the stray email field appears below the price set.

The second attachment shows my contribution page in "Test Drive" mode. Again I get the email issue but the test-drive page also shows my custom fields in the profile. These custom fields don't appear on the live page.

On your demo page (currently in Turkish) I see that the online contribution page also has the email field below the price set. Could this be a bug?

the demo is in english now. The email address is always after the amounts

Hi Donald. Are we looking at the same box? I'm looking at the Joomla demo and it's still in Turkish so it's hard for me to navigate to set up my data.

You say the email address always comes after the price set? So is it designed to ignore any email fields in the profiles and use this instead?

oops, i was looking at the drupal demo

u can reset the joomla demo in future by going to:

http://joomla.demo.civicrm.org/administrator/?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/admin/setting/localization&reset=1

yes, the email address always appears after the priceset. If its part of a profile its part of that profile but after the price set

Hi Donald,

Ok thanks for clarifying the issue with the email field. However my problems continue.  :-[

I have 2 custom fields as part of my profile, both of which are enabled etc but aren't showing up on the live page. However they do show up on the test-drive page. Any pointers as to why this might happen?

sorry not sure why that happens. Your best bet would be to try and reproduce this on our demo servers which will help us isolate and debug the issue

I'm not clear from this thread if there is a way to disable the "Your Email" address from Contribution forms.

We have a Contribution page that shows email address in the price set field, and we have email address in the contact profile, on the same page.

From the thread, it sounded like "Your Registration Info" profile is used for the email address in the price set, but it appears it isn't.

How do I disable the "Your Email Address" within the priceset area, and thus eliminate the user's need to enter their email address twice?

I am running Joomla 2.5.11 and civiCRM 4.3.4
