Do not receive bounce
June 17, 2013, 08:46:52 am
CiviCRM 4.1 installed on Joomla.
Mailinng work fine for correct mail addresses. I can also receive mailing addressed to (eg) myaddress+bounce@gmail.com.
But I cannot receive any info about bounces for un-correct addresses.

My settings are as in attached 01, 02, 03 jpg figures.
The source message is as in 04, 05 txt figures.
The bounce log is as in 06 jpg figure.

Also tried the following, in email account:
username: info (not info@heldercamara.it)
return-path: mybounce@gmail.com (an ad-hoc user account).

Thank you for help.

Is your mybounce a "catch-all" account?

I understand that a "catch-all" account is a feature on the mail server, at the ISP.
If this is correct, no, I do not have a "catch-all" account, at the moment.
I only have that GMail account, that I have tried to use for this purpose. And also have a GoogleApps account, to check if here I can have a "catch-all" account.

Anyway, for the moment and to understand how CiviCRM works, I have this question.
It could be acceptable for me to be notified in some other way about wrong addresses, without expecting CiviCRM to manage this. And to manually purge my mailing list.
Is this possible in some way? Is it possible (and useful) to disable VERP? AFAIK sending mail with VERP is resource consuming. And it could be used only when I need to verify my mailing list.
Thank you.
