Gmail unsubscribe issue
March 20, 2014, 03:06:53 am
The closest I found on forum is this thread:

http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php?topic=24755.0

Issue is that gmail has a new service where it automatically (?) sends unsubscribe emails on user's behalf.

However there are a couple of issues - sometimes the (gmail) email address of sender is not in the civicrm contact list (guess there was some automatic email forwarding that took place). So in this case I would need to be able to backtrack from the mailing id used by gmail (e.g. cvcrm-sys+u.622.417096.d57bfd6f1f7a7569@domain.com) to get the actual contact.

So question one: how can I manually go from the VERP info to a contact id ?

Question 2: Can I somehow automate this maybe using the bounce handling method mentioned in the first post URL I gave earlier?
