Just wondering if the CiviCRM team was planning on using FCK Editor for composing messages in Civimail starting in 2.1 (i see it is on the sandbox).

I would definitely be cool with that especially because of the major problem i'm having with dojo explained here: http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,1413.0.html and here http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,3093.0.html

Yes - the 2.1 release will support FCKEditor and TinyMCE. The site admin will decide / configure which editor is use both in CiviMail and in several other forms / fields that support HTML formatting (for example - Event Description). You can see the configuration option here:

At this time, we are not planning on supporting the dojo editor - but will re-evaluate putting this back in AS A CONFIGURABLE OPTION - if and when issues with that editor are resolved.
