Mapping not working
September 12, 2008, 12:37:36 pm
I'm experiencing the same problem fm mentions here: http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,3531.0.html

My mapping is configured correctly.  I can access maps correctly from the main CiviEvents page, the 'Map' link points to: ....civicrm/contact/map&reset=1&eid=2

However, on the actual event details page (....civicrm/event/info&reset=1&id=2), the 'Map this location' link points back to the info page: ...civicrm/event/info&reset=1&id=2

The forum post you're referencing was specific to the case when the event registration was "full". This was fixed for 2.1 by this issue:

http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-3173

If your situation matches that case, you can either upgrade to 2.1 or check the "Fisheye" link in that issue to see what's involved in potentially backporting the fix to 2.0.

If your situation does not match that case, then it would be helpful to verify whether the same case causes problems on the public demo (i.e. is this still an unresolved problem in 2.1). I would be surprised if the Map link is broken for all / any cases - and I have recently tested it for a decent subset of cases in 2.1 beta.

Hi Dave,

Like I mentioned above, the problem I was having was similar to the problem "fm" was having. Fm mentions that he just created the event, and that it wasn't full. The same goes for me, the event was not full, changing the number of allowed registrants did not affect outcome.

Without changing any settings, I deleted the event, recreated with the same info, and the links now point to the map correctly.  I've been unable to reproduce this error, hopefully it stays that way.
