Hold/Remember Previous Page Checked Boxes

I am sure there is a post somewhere about this, so please feel free to direct me to it (8 pages of search results but I couldn't find a matching one).

I'm in Civi 2.0. I perform a search that returns more than 100 results. I need to select a bunch of contacts on multiple result pages and then do a bulk action. Except that once I leave the first page, any contacts I checked there are not remembered when I check off others on the second page. This is a very necessary function for my org. Anyway to get this to remember/cache the previous page contacts that are selected?

This has been a requested feature which has not been implemented as yet. Its a bit non-trivial and hence has been pushed off. We will address it in a future 2.x / 3.x release
