JoomCivi Released
May 11, 2009, 01:16:47 pm
Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the wait. Just released JoomCivi. A package which will help you get CiviCRM with Joomla up and running in no time.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/joomcivi/

There is a guide which will help you in getting everything configured. http://apps.sourceforge.net/mediawiki/joomcivi/index.php?title=Main_Page I am yet to port it to the CiviCRM documentation.

This is first release of the package (version 0.1.0 It has Joomla 1.5.10 and CiviCRM 2.2.2). I'll be more than happy to see any feedbacks or comments or questions/support requests on this forum. I hope to do some modifications and create a script to automate the configuration.

Enjoy the manual way of installing Joomla + CiviCRM = JoomCivi

Thanks

Polestar -

Thanks very much for your work - I'm very, very sure that it will help many more people get up to speed with CiviCRM.

Please make sure you announce this at the Joomla Extension Directory!!

John

Hi John,

Joomla won't allow me to announce this on extensions directory as this include joomla in itself.

Regards
Rohit

Sad, and funny...

Meanwhile, rockettheme.com & joomlart.com and others can bundle it as a package - hmmm, doesn't sound too even-handed to me. You really should send a press release to their community or developer moderators. This package is QUITE a service!

Has there been any activity or update on this project?  I am going to do a new install soon and I'll test out a newer version if one is available.

It looks like this is exactly what the Joomla community needs!!

Thanks!
Jason

Just installed the new version, and it works great!
One thing to edit in the wiki: the Joomla login is admin/joomcivi, not admin/integration.  I figured that out by total guessing, it only took me about 4 tries.

Thus far I got it installed, but have only tested it a little bit.  As I play with it over the next several days I will report any issues I find.

Thanks again Rohit!

Jason

Have you updated civicrm.settings.php file in both the administrator/components/com_civicrm folder and components/com_civicrm folder?

Now I am getting new error after updating both the files.
Have a look in attachment. Can it be a cause of permission of the directories because still many of directory is not writable which joomla required.
