1.7 still beta?
April 28, 2007, 12:03:14 pm
On March 23rd the beta version of release 1.7 was announced on the CiviCRM blog. I understand the need for a good, solid beta period, and I applaud CiviCRM for not releasing 1.7 before all beta bugs have been addressed.

However, the download site already states: "The latest stable version of CiviCRM is 1.7.". The filename of the download at the other hand still include the word "beta", as in "civicrm-1.7.beta.9019-drupal-php5.tar.gz".

It seems to be that that this is a confusing message for the users. If 1.7 is still beta, shouldn't the download page state that the stable version (and thus recommended for download) is 1.6?
