CiviCRM: Best on Drupal or Joomla?
August 06, 2009, 11:19:35 am
I've done my due diligence, thoroughly, but am still unsure about whether to install CiviCRM on Drupal or Joomla for a political website that needs its grassroots constituents to e-blast, contribute, create and attend events, etc. I would love to go Drupal but CiviCRM is not the one and only application I am integrating. Joomla has better add-ons for multi-blogs (My Blog), multi-vendor shopping cart (JMarket Pro), and Facebook-like social network (JomSocial). Can a CiviCRMaster please enlighten me on the best CMS path to take? Or should I just wait for a stable CiviCRM 3.0?

Thank you so very, very much for any and all possible input.

CiviCRM v3.0 does have few kool features. But I guess you should first check current stable release i.e CiviCRM v2.2.8 and see if that meets your requirements. You can always upgrade when v3.0 becomes stable.

Thank you, Kurund. Now my question is which ACL do you recommend for CiviCRM with Joomla:

1) noixacl;
2) JUGA; or
3) Community ACL?
