Import problems after field mapping
August 09, 2008, 01:28:53 am
I have recently set up a Drupal install at siteground. Setup was smooth, but upon trying to import contacts it waits for a bit after I set up the field mappings, and then tries to get me to download an empty index.php file, as if it's not parsing the php code at a certain depth or something.

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

This doesn’t look like anything I’ve encountered before. Can you look in to the webserver’s logs and see whether it reports any errors there?

No, there are no error messages visible in any of the logs, the behavior is the same as if php is deactivated, or not installed, it just prompts me to download an empty php file. With further testing, I can see it happening in multiple places. Namely, any time I try to send an email through CiviMail, or from a contacts info page. Could this be some sort of SOAP issue? Or maybe the lack of a PEAR module that I am not aware I need?

It seems to me like a webserver misconfiguration issue – basically, the webserver is not parsing PHP, it just offers it for download.

Quick search reveals at least two threads with similar issues, but none related to CiviCRM in the end:
