Contact Tabs not showing

Hi folks,

I am using Civi 2.1.1 and right now the tabs (Contributions, Pledges, Memberships, etc.) are all missing. I only see the summary tab. In the past I was able to fix that by clearing out the config_backend field in the civicrm_domain table and then using the http://domain/civicrm/menu/rebuild?reset=1 URL to rebuild the settings. That would usually restore the tabs and I would be all set. This time around though, it is not fixing the problem. I have checked the permission settings and the global settings for the right site preferences and they are all activated. I am using Firefox 3.5, so this is presumably not the IE8 Dojo bug that has been reported elsewhere. Can anyone think about other steps that I could take to figure out why the tabs are not showing up? Any ideas what else I could try would be greatly appreciated.

Just an idea until more expert people answer...

Are you using Drupal?

Clear the site cache
Truncate the civicrm sessions table or at least clear the entries for your user id

Also check Site Preferences under Admin CiviCRM >> Global Settings (you can show / hide tabs there).

If this only happens in IE8, check out http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,8132.0.html but if it's on multiple browsers, check out http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,8964.0.html or any of the others below that mention updating the resources directory.

Hope this helps.  I thought I was tracking the "Contact record tabs not rendering" ticket by email and just never got a reply.  Glad I happened to see yours, which got me searching.  Alas, our resource directory was correct, but I think the error is somehow local to our slow network - need to do more troubleshooting.
